Horizon West is not a city. It is Orange County’s large greenfield sector plan west of 429 — villages, Town Center, and a population curve that barely existed in 2000. The weekly problem set is construction-era, not historic. New sod leaks phosphate. Mulch beds float. Builder dust still blows in from the next phase. Horizon West Regional Park, Hamlin Town Center, and the Western Beltway are the landmarks, not a downtown grid. Lots are young: less oak tassels than Windermere, more UV because the trees have not caught up. That UV is why cyanuric acid still matters, and why CDC MAHC treats stabilized water as needing a higher free-chlorine floor (2.0 ppm vs 1.0 ppm without CYA).

If you bought in 2024 and the water is already green, that is usually a pump schedule or a cell that was never powered after closing — green pool recovery, then a standing weekly.
Do you clean the neighborhood amenity pool?
No. Public and HOA commercial pools sit under Florida 64E-9. This site is residential backyards only.
Reclaimed irrigation in the HOA — can you fill the pool from it?
No. UF/IFAS reclaimed-water publications advise against filling pools with reclaimed water. We will not.
